The designers have used the unique vitality of stone and wood to form the main body of the structure. This combination weaves a leaping tonality of calm or action, lending the somber cultural foundation a streak of luxury, aesthetics, and rhythm. Warm earth colors are selected as the base tones of the space, with varying shades of brown, harmonious beige, gray, and white forming a complementary yet layered look.
What sets Tranquility apart from other designs is the strategic arrangement of public spaces such as the living room, dining room, and kitchen. By borrowing space to create visual penetration, the designers have strengthened the sense of a flowing 'home-atmosphere'. The open system architecture allows the restaurant and kitchen to serve not only as places to provide three meals a day, but also as leisure spaces for family gatherings, thereby increasing the relationship and meaning in 'home'.
The project, which started in October 2016 in Tainan and finished in April 2017 in Tainan, was realized using wood, stone, and wallpaper. The design team, including Leo Lin and Eric SU, worked diligently to bring this vision to life. The result is a residential interior design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally innovative.
Tranquility's innovative approach to residential interior design has not gone unnoticed. The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
In conclusion, Tranquility by Lin,zhi-long and Su,nan-kai is a testament to the power of design in transforming not just spaces, but also the way people interact within those spaces. By creating a home that is not just a place to live, but also a place to connect, they have truly redefined the concept of home.
